Hi all. So great to see everyone today. Family visits are fun but I am truly fulfilled by your company. What a great way to start the week.
So we have finished out the "learning" phase of Attentiveness and we are moving on the the "go and do" phase in which we will learn ways to practice Christian attentiveness. We talked about some ideas for service today including some Caring Place opportunities, baking cookies for the troops as well as sending our extra Halloween candy to them. As for our lessons, Chris, Molly & Michael are going to lead the next phase which will last 6 weeks.
Our Pumpkin carving is going to be this Sunday Oct 25 at our house at 5pm. I will send out an evite so everyone has directions. So far, this is who has signed up to bring stuff:
Sandwiches: Mays, Zuehlke, Denham, English, Looby
Side/Chips/Dip: Ashby, Schayot, Boff
Fruit: Plagens, Tompkins (veggies)
Drinks: Plagens (juice boxes), Chaney (sodas & tea)
Dessert: Culpepper
Plates: Zuehlke
Cups: Tompkins
Napkins: Looby
Utensils: Zuehlke
For whoever else is coming but has not signed up, just bring whatever. Looking forward to hanging out with everyone.
This week our prayer concerns include a friend of ours, Cindy Cantor, who is battling cancer. Here is her caringbridge site: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/cindycantor
Also, Paula Chaney let us know that the pink firetruck that is touring to raise $ for Breast Cancer will be in downtown Gtown on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. There will be kids activities and you can take pics of the firetruck etc. Also she is the liason for the Komen Yoplait lids (the pink ones) so if you are saving lids you can give them directly to her.
Joys: Laura and Chad Tompkins will welcome baby quatro in the Spring and Michael and Dawn Mays will be gaining a nephew--his brother and his wife are expecting a boy:)
Go in Peace and find time to be attentive this week.
Many Blessings,
Laurie
